Autumn time.... My Favourite!

I do LOVE Autumn!! I've recently joined in on the Pinterest fun and found this wonderful quote....

"Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the Autumn tree" Emily Bronte

I want to do an Autumn page for the month of May on my calender and so "told" everyone what to wear, drove to a pretty Autumn tree spot and took some photo's ready to scrap! Until I get the page done I wanted to share with you some of the pictures from the day..... Oh how blessed I am to have such an amazing family to love!!!

I hope that you too are able to enjoy some "Autumn" time and take in the wonder of the trees and all the beauty of this amazing season!

ANZAC Day, something to think about and some awesome books!

It's ANZAC day! I've enjoyed some traditional Anzac biscuits which I finally made crunchy! My husband was super excited as they are his favourite!! YAY!! We've spent time with close friends and read a book all about that first day in Anzac Cove and then how they built a house in a day!

I found this amazing book from a list HERE courtesy of  the lovely Jeanne over at A peaceful day, she has done an awesome job of putting it together with some info about each book! It totally inspired me!! I'd like to have a collection of Anzac related books also! So I've ordered (but sadly it didn't come before today..) this book, which Jeanne recommended.

I've always wondered what the relation between poppies and Anzac day is all about.... hopefully tomorrow I'll know!
My dear Friend Heath goes to the Dawn service every year to see her Pop and then the 11 o'clock service where he marches. It moves me each year, I love the bond, the tradition. I hope to make Anzac day more meaningful for our family too......

We bought the latest Colin Buchanan cd this week, God Rock. One song on it is all about The Armor of God. It reminds me that we are all at war in one way or another, but mostly a spiritual war, a war that has been won by Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, if only we give our lives over to Him.

I have a dear friend who's hubbie is currently serving in Afghanistan, this amazing woman and her 6 treasures are doing life without their Daddy, like soooo many other families all around the world!
One day the wars will be over, one day the pain will be at an end...... one day Jesus will return!!!
My question is in all of this, "are you on the winning side?"
Lest we forget!

Nursery Rhyme Unit study week #6 Humpty Dumpty

Though we are now on holidays and our nursery study has finished, I really wanted to still post about our fun weeks! The saying better late then never certainly comes to mind!
For this week we looked at the famous rhyme of Humpty Dumpty.
We found out some great history HERE,

cool craft HERE
Looked at other Seige Engines HERE
Some more craft and game ideas HERE and HERE then we went to check out some other canon's that we have here in Launceston!

It was great for the children to see them up close and personal. The last one we went to is actually in our City Park! We bought some chippies, had a picnic and enjoyed the afternoon. What a great field trip!!

Zeke also took to his Lego bricks and came up with an awesome Humpty, complete with wall!! LOVE IT!

Hope you are finding some great ideas for your treasures, I'll be back soon (i promise) and wrap up the rest of our term!!

Sapphire - 6 months old

Today being the 11th of April means that our sweet little Sapphire Lizzie (as she is affectionately called) is now officially 6 months old! HALF A YEAR!!! WOW what an amazing time it's been..... ohhh how I love our little babies!!! Oh how I love our precious treasure Sapphire! She is now rolling over to the side and sometimes rolls completely over, just begun her first taste of solids (and liking it!) thrives in company, loves to stand and strengthen her leggies!

Her favourite games are playing aeroplanes, and the blanket game (when we flap the wrap up in the air like a parachute and free fall it over her face) She enjoys hanging out with her cousin Reuben (who is also nearly 6 months, in only 8 more days) and each time they are together they hold hands, it's the cutest thing!!!

Having some cuddle time with Nanny
these little buddies are so much like twins!!
They are always doing the same thing, like sucking their fingers!!

Overall she is an absolute delight and we all love her soooooo much!!!

Nursery Rhyme Unit study week #5 - Jack and Jill

Once you start a new rhyme it's amazing what you can take out of it! I never knew that this week we'd actually go and see an old well right HERE in Launceston! Sooo cool! I found some great activities HERE for the girls and we also went to a nice hilly park to play out the rhyme! The children LOVED acting out the rhyme and totally jumped into character. Zeke was Jack and the girls each took it in turns at being Jill.

Here is our Jack
And here are ALL the Jill's with Jack!
Firstly we have Esther Jill and Jack

Esther Jill wasn't happy to roll down the hill so she met Jack at the bottom!
Next it was Sophia Jill....

Sophia Jill totally rolled down the hill,
it was wonderful to see her get into it!

Now for Hannah Jill, let's all sing along now...

Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
(I Love Hannah's acting here, it absolute dismay in seeing
her Jack tumbling down the hill)

and Jill came tumbling after....

(She pretended to roll down the hill so as not to get grass or prickles!
I love how she still made it look real, then landing on Jack at the bottom!)
Zeke said at the end of it that he was feeling quite sore and battered! After all he did roll down in the hill in wonderful style THREE times!! This last photo is one of my favourites from the day, the way Sophia is looking up at her brother with so much love and admiration brings the biggest smile to my face!

After the roll play we headed to the Quadrant Mall where I showed the children the well we once had, right here in Launceston! It's really quite amazing to read about and a wonderful finish to our study for the week.

We are all having a great time of learning so far this term, there is certainly something in it for everyone!
